Conditions of transport, handling and storage

For transport, handling and lifting in Switzerland, we work on the basis of art. 440 et seq. of the Swiss Code of Obligations (CO), modified in accordance with ASTAG conditions, latest edition in force.

• Transport subject to ASTAG/CO conditions in Switzerland: CHF 15.00 per gross kg
• Maximum amount per transport, handling or lifting operation: CHF 40,000.

For international shipments within Europe where the place of acceptance and the place of delivery are located in two different countries, the Convention on the Contract for the International Carriage of Goods by Road (CMR) applies.

• Transport subject to CMR: SDR 8.33 per gross kg (i.e. approx. CHF 11.- per gross kg, depending on exchange rate)

For all our forwarding activities, we work on the basis of Art. 439 of the Swiss Code of Obligations (CO) as amended by the General Terms and Conditions of SPEDLOGSWISS – Swiss Freight Forwarding and Logistics Association, latest edition in force.

In the event of damage and insofar as we are liable in accordance with the above provisions, our liability is limited to the amounts stated in the SPEDLOGSWISS, in particular:

• SDR 8.33 per gross kg (approx. CHF 11.- per gross kg, depending on exchange rate)
• Maximum amount per case: SDR 20,000 (approx. CHF 26,000 depending on exchange rate)

For all our warehousing activities, we work on the basis of article 472 et seq. of the Swiss Code of Obligations (CO), modified by the General Conditions of SPEDLOGSWISS – Swiss Association of Freight Forwarders and Logistics Companies – for warehousing, latest edition in force.

Storage notes

As a warehouse keeper, we are only obliged to insure stored goods against the risks of fire, water damage and burglary, or against material damage caused by any other event, at the express written request of our customers, indicating the insurance value and specifying the risk to be covered. Conditions and rates are available on request

In cantons where fire and natural hazard risks are compulsorily insured by cantonal institutions, our customers are obliged to insure these risks directly with these institutions.

We are insured for the various liabilities arising from legal or contractual provisions as per numbers 1 to 3 above.
